Parent and Teen Mediation

Two women sit on a bed holding hands and praying together in a cozy, well-lit bedroom.

Are you trapped in an endless cycle of unproductive fights with your teenager? Parent and Teen Mediation aims to promote better communication between teens and their parents and guardians. During this process, both the adult(s) and young person are given equal opportunity to listen and be heard. A trained mediator works with families to create a safe and structured environment that facilitates better communication and promotes positive behavioral changes.

Parent and Teen Mediation is not therapy; rather, it is an additional tool for families to develop positive communication skills, foster mutual understanding, strengthen relationships, and help parents and teens collaborate on establishing rules and boundaries that promote healthy interactions and home life. Examples of issues that can be addressed include:

  • Curfew

  • Responsibilities and expectations at home

  • Expectations in school

  • Rules surrounding use of devices
